Childhood Scoliosis Screening
Has your child been told that they might have a scoliosis, from a screening at school? We can do a thorough exam and take x-rays to see if in fact they do have a scoliosis. Then we can discuss what options they have to treat it.
Often times there is a family history of scoliosis, which means if one of the parents has a scoliosis, all the kids should be checked.
It is much easier and more effective to treat a scoliosis before they stop growing and reach skeletal maturity around 18 years old for females and 21 for males.
Adult Scoliosis
Many adults may not know if they have a scoliosis, unless they had back pain and had x-rays done by a chiropractor.
Common signs you might have a scoliosis are:
--Chronic back pain
--One shoulder is higher
--Family history of scoliosis
--Your ribs feel uneven
--One leg feels shorter
Everyone who has a scoliosis should get to know a chiropractor very well, because there is a higher incidence of spinal arthritis.
